University of Winnipeg Withdraws College Women’s Soccer Team

After being unable to meet the required number of players for Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) soccer competition, the women’s college team from the University of Winnipeg has withdrawn from the rest of the 2012 season.

At the time of withdrawal, the University of Winnipeg College team was 0-2 and last in the conference standings. All future games involving the College Wesmen will be wiped from the MCAC schedule. Previous games will be wiped from existing standings for the remaining three teams in women’s soccer.

At the end of the 2011 soccer season, the University of Winnipeg’s teams moved from the MCAC to the CIS. College teams for the University compete regularly in men’s and women’s volleyball and basketball.
