Sheri Hince Named Week 3 Female Athlete of the Week

The former University of Central Florida Knight played NCAA Div. I in 2009

The University of Winnipeg’s Sheri Hince scored four goals on Saturday, October 2, helping her first-placed Wesmen squad defeat the Canadian Mennonite University Blazers 14-0 at CMU South field.

The 20-year-old Dakota Collegiate graduate is likely the Wesmen’s most experienced baller having recently returned from a single-season stint with the University of Central Florida (UCF). According to Hince, the UCF Knights were ranked #16 in the nation in NCAA Division I women’s soccer while she was there on a full athletic scholarship. Hince also trained with the Canadian National Team training program in Edmonton before leaving for UCF in Orlando.

After returning home to Winnipeg, Hince also had a short stint with the University of Manitoba before deciding to play the remainder of her collegiate career with the University of Winnipeg. She is currently studying Kinesiology and Applied Health.

Hince sees the new Wesmen team to be coming together nicely following their win over CMU.
“We were definitely gelling more this game. After our game against Providence, this game was definitely better… Our movement is better. We’re getting our shape together.”
Hince’s teammates Josée Grégoire and Chantal Powlesland each had three goals against the Blazers.
